Internet Humor and Obscure References: Tutorial #1, The Russian Reversal

I've decided to launch a series of instructional posts to help you internet n00bies (i.e. those who don't spend 20 hrs a day surfing) understand some of the more obscure references you might come upon. On sites that cater to hardcore internet junkies (like slashdot or digg), you may notice some repeating "jokes" or "comments" that you don't understand. This series will let you in on some of the more common references.

Lesson #1: The Russian Reversal.

Example: The original post was "Google launches new page allowing users to customize their seaches." A 'Russian Reversal' comment would either be A) "In Soviet Russia, Google searches YOU!" or B) "In Soviet Russia, Google customizes YOU!".

These are manipulations of a line of jokes originally from Yakov Smirnoff. The ideal transposition should carry heavy Orwellian undertones.
