Leet, or leetspeak, is just a alternative way of typing words with different spellings, and replacing characters with numbers or alternative characters. Leet itself is often written as "l33t" or "1337".

It original was used by "hackers" to indicate their eliteness, but now is used tongue-in-cheek to indicate that you are pretending to be a superior computer user.
